okay, I've been going on and on about this custom pixel LJ moodset business in my blog and over on my deviantArt site but it's time I wrote a solid, public block of information about my commissions--terms and conditions. so here goes!

I will draw a basic custom set of fifteen animated mood icons for $30. a "basic set" consists of the fifteen basic

I would love to buy an icon set from you! A total full-on fancy set of the most I can possibly get, because I love showing off your stuff to my friends. But there are two problems... I wouldn't be able to pay for it until next month, and I would want Sommies because you draw her so terrifyingly well (you get her wings right! I love you), but you said no hugely detailed things. ;3;

oh ha ha ha. XD no, I meant, like, nothing with intricate tattoos or patterns or wearing a thousand pieces of clothing. XD Sommies are adorable marshmallow ladies. > 3< the only real significant detail is in the hair, and I'm pretty sure that's easy peasy. I could probably make things work. especially if I peeped the icons you started making once upon a time to get an idea of what you're after.

Okay! So on Friday, I can give you a down payment, and I want a full set because I LIKE TO WASTE ALL YOUR FREE TIME! ♥ That and you make awesome icons :3 But here is a really cool antidote to the wasting your time thing: I will need to give you partial payments over a few bi-weekly paychecks, if that's okay- I get to pay for going to a funeral like 5 states away at the end of this month, which cuts pretty deeply into my mad money, but I assure you that what you ask for will be paid in time, and you're welcome to not make mine at all until I pay in full. I totally understand, especially now that you have a job. :D

hokay. following my first week at work I'm feeling like my creative drive got run over by a truck, but by Friday I should know if I have enough energy to draw you some sweet Sommie icons. :B (like, I should figure out if I've settled into the routine and all.) PARTIAL PAYMENTS IS JUST DANDY, LADY! good lord, money is tight everywhere. ; -; I trust you in any case. Sommies is good people.

NOW: I still wanna see those sommie icons you tried to make once upon a time! I know you showed them to me once, I just wish I'd saved them. I find these things inspirational. I tried to draw a little pixelsommie liek, a couple weeks ago I spose, but she needs more help. as soon as I can make a nice base image that you approve, I can get started. <3

My terrible icons? ;___; They're terrible, because they're only stupid-animated (like one or two or three frames) and they're not even transparent. :( But here they are! http://somniac.net/moods/sommie/ Although I wanna say that I do not mind at all (and would probably prefer) Sommie's normal straight-ish hair instead of having to do piles of pigtails like that! (Also, I stole that face from some Thai website years ago and I can't even remember where it was.)

The only HUGE detail I really ask is her wings. You can make her eyes black dots and/or simplify anything else you want, but if it is possible, wingies+hair! (again, if there's no room or it gets too big/impractical, then no worries! as long as it is a Sommie I will be happy.)

Thank you SO much for even thinking about this! ;3; I know that work is a huge poop on creativity. That's why I haven't drawn for years and years! haha. Someday I'll get back into it and actually make a webcomic. ;.;

ahahaha NO!! NO they're not terrible. I adore these. XD I always thought they were SUPER CUTE and pretty clever as far as illustrating emotions with a floating head goes. XD

I will play. I'll see if I can draw a reasonable pixel body and I will of course draw her wings. OF COURSE!

hokay, I've spent the whole morning trying to come up with a base, because I am VERY MUCH LOATH to accept any money from you without having at least that. D:

and I'm not really sure how happy I am with her, I feel like she should be prettier or something.

That is awesome and I loves it! ^__^ I only have one more request, and one that would actually probably make it easier for you: it's okay (and would probably work better) to make her body+arms tiny so her feet end at the bottom of her bottom wings, or poke out just a few pixels further! Her face and hair and wings are PERFECTIONx10,000,000,000!
Also, 75 is also perfect, and is actually less than I was expecting! ^^; So YOU HAD BETTER ACCEPT A GENEROUS TIP, MISSY. (and if I have a drawing streak like I had last night, some thank-you doodles and an address to send your year-late birthday present to! x__x)

drats, are you at work/banned from teh evil AIM? I'm not sure what you mean about fixing up her body and require further elaboration. D: are you saying you want her whole body to be so tiny as to barely go past the wings? because I tried drawing that first and it exploded in my face. :F I have this block in my brain that will not allow me to draw superdeformed proportions. but I'll give it another shot. it IS perhaps a tad tall for a mood icon, although I've seen much worse.

O WAO MY ESTIMATE WAS LOW? :0 the thought of tips makes me blush up to my ears. AS USUAL SOMMIES ARE THE SWEETEST MARSHMALLOWS AROUND ; O; <3333333 (and of course I'll give you my address :B)

I do not have AIM at work for now! ;o; HOWEVER! I have Gmail, and Gmail has a built-in chat thingish that is worksafe, if you want to hit me up there! (If you don't have Gmail, I can send you an invite stat!) And yes, superdeformed is what I meant.. I also have problems doing it, but I've found that the easiest way to counter THAT block is to draw a body as normal and then shrink it with editing magic! I'm such a cheater. :B

yeah, I remember some losers getting you written up about AIMing. WHORES. I think I have a gmail address but I haven't poked into it--I'll give it a try a little later. I got me some stupid errands to do. :T

anyway I shrank the body a little so the image is 15 pixels shorter. but not as short as you asked me to do.

Yeay! If shrinking it any more makes you uncomfortable, then that up there's fine- or you can do a Riktard-style copout and do her head only if you want. xD But I will totally be happy with this here! And yes, Sommie has a belly button. X3

I shortened it by another 2 pixels. :B I think I'm done messin', although at this point she looks like she has slightly tremendous bosoms so I may toy with those. SO. at this point. it's time for you to tell me all about Sommie's personality and likes and super powers (should they differ considerably from your own? either way it's good to know) so that I will be able to make especially effective emoticons. :D of course, I will be looking at the ones you started for guidance. :D!

I would do a floaty head but I can't figure out how to get her wings in with it without things looking real stupid. :F plus by this point I've gotten rather fond of this pixel Somdoll. I think shrinking her body actually was the right thing to do.
