okay, I've been going on and on about this custom pixel LJ moodset business in my blog and over on
my deviantArt site but it's time I wrote a solid, public block of information about my commissions--terms and conditions. so here goes!
I will draw a basic custom set of fifteen animated mood icons for $30. a "basic set" consists of the fifteen basic top-level moods in the LJ mood hierarchy under which all of the other LJ moods fall. the fifteen moods are:
angry, awake, confused, determined, devious, energetic, enthralled, happy, indescribable, nerdy, okay, sad, scared, thoughtful, working.
if there are specific moods (like "loved" or "drunk" or "predatory") that you really must have, I'll charge an additional $0.50 per icon. or if I'm really having fun with your theme and there's a mood in there that I just can't resist drawing, I'll make it too and include it at no charge. if you want me to make what I consider a "full" set (which has something on the order of 65-75 individual icons, depending on the subject) we can work out pricing. (drawing a "full" set can take something on the order of four days of work.)
I will also provide instructions on how to install the new theme along with the dimensions of each image. you'll have to host the pictures on your own server (I believe photobucket works). if you don't have your own image storage space we might be able to work something out. >_>
transactions can be paypal or money order. :B when I produce a sample image of the desired set, I'll ask a down payment of $5. once the set is complete I require the rest of the payment before I can send it. I'll obviously be looser about this for people I know and trust.
it would be nice if you'd credit me as the artist in your LJ profile but I won't require it.
I am pretty flexible about what I draw, but I most certainly prefer drawing animals (in any color). I would also consider things like pokemon, zoloft-like bubbles or other disembodied heads, san-x or sanrio characters, or fursonas--as long as there isn't too much detail, because too much detail bogs down the expressiveness, legibility, and size of the image. plus I totally suck at drawing things like guns and robots so forget that.
on the whole I would prefer to draw things I understand fairly well, so that deciding how to represent each emotion can be accomplished appropriately and effectively.
for the sake of example, here are some of the icons I've made, either as part of a full set, as experiments that could turn into a full set, or as sample images. you may find more examples of my mood icons at
my website under "LJ icons."
note: deer and wolves are off limits. >_>
