(no subject)
met a friend for coffee near work today. she had off, so met me at the coffee shop. i bought her coffee and was sitting w/ two cups waiting when she came in. it was so nice to chat for an hour.
today she came by again after work. she brought a bowl of mangos + berries + grapefruit... mmm. we had spanish wine (tempranillo), two cheeses (spanish [manchego] and irish), salad w/ sweet corn, and carrot sticks and blistered tortillas w/ hummus. not a bit of cooking involved, and what a feast!
work is the same, my mood is the same... i'm ready for a change for the better. in the meantime, i'm reading eat, pray, love (i bought it for a friend, and she liked it so she bought me a copy), and waiting for that same friend to come visit in a few weeks. i won't take much time off work while she's here, but we'll have lots of talks late into the night, i'm sure.
d booked a trip to maui today... we didn't get our place for his b-day or our anniversary, but it will be in sept. (shoulder season - less crowded, fewer kids/families). it's just sad how much work it takes to keep on top of these things when the travel programs (timeshare + rewards travel) are so limiting. it sucks. we've got another week to use before july, or we'll lose it. i'm not complaining, it's just tough to plan for these things.
