it seems i havent wrote in this thing in forever, mainly due to plain apathy but its a sunday afternoon and im bored. also, my house is FREEZZZINNGGG
friday night. armor for sleep, mae (my new favorite band), and the starting line (my favorite band of all time). wow. i honestly can say that that was easily the best night of my life, and ive had some pretty good nights. it started off with clare, kristen, and me going to DQ right after school to catch up on some pre-prom things and then matt picked me and stez up and headed to the show. i met up with heather there along with nick, jaime and ricky, but sadly kendra also didnt attend. dont worry, i later told her how much fun she missed. also, there was al niceforo, luke, kristen, clare, shea, and some kid joe that i played hockey with a few years back. the mosh pit during armor for sleep was incredibly fun, mae is sooooo much better than this day and age despite them being like the same, and kenny vasoli of TSL makes me wanna become gay. they played 5 new songs from their new cd, my favorite one is hands down "ready". it was incredible when they played their songs and everyone in the crowd knew the lyrics and were singing along with them. they started with up and go and went straight into best of me, which was aweesssoommeee. and lastly, when they played playing favorites... wow. yes im obsessed.
the best part was afterwards when matt's brilliance shined through and told mae about a buffalo place called mighty taco. so after they finished packing their stuff away, they met up with us at mighty. their keyboardist and the drummer were so in awe of how amazingly sweet most buffalo people are and couldnt get over how good loganberry is. theyre so nice and although i didnt have any more cash on me, i still mooched off everyone. it was kinda weird since i decided to wear my new "mae is for lovers" t-shirt around them, but whatever.
last night was alot more chill than the night before, but it was equally as awesome. i really wasnt planning on doing much until lindsey called me and told me to come over and help babysit her sister. while there, the two of us made grilled cheese, chased her dog throughout her neighborhood, and watched the simpsons and wonder showzen (perhaps the funniest show ive ever seen). were so much alike sometimes we think we were seperated at birth or soulmates.
anyways. i sent my deposit in for fordham for next year. in a few short months, ill be in sunny beautiful bronx new york for the next four years. i think that id be happier there more than any other school i got into. i cant wait for NYC.
Mae - We're So Far Away
Remembering, everything,
about my world and when you came.
Wondering, the change you’d bring,
means nothing else would be the same.
Did you know, what you were doing, did you know?
Did you know how you would move me well,
I don’t really think so.
but the night came down and swept us away.
and the stars they seemed,
to paint the most elaborate scene to date.
How could we know? that song, this show,
we'd learn so much about ourselves.
From Toledo, to Tokyo,
the words were scribed on every page,
and now there’s books up on our shelves.
Did you know how you would move us, did you know?
When the lights first came upon us,
and we saw The Everglow.
and the moment's magic swept us away.
and the young mans dream was almost seen so plain.
When was the night
that showed us the sign?
Revealed in the sky, to leave all behind.
But where to begin? throwing caution to the wind,
We reached for the stars, everything was now ours.
Did you know how you would move me, did you know?
Did you know how you would move me?
well, I don’t even think so.
but the moment's magic swept us away.
and it’s so close, but we’re so far away.
It’s so close, but we’re so far away.
