Band Camp 2005 Pre- Mega Post
So that's it. We're done just like that. I was excited for this year, but it's also bittersweet. I just finished a week that will never happen again, at least not as a student. Three years ago when we walked into that Gazebo, receiving salutes and gloves from then Drum Majors Lauren Sofen and Steve Hurvitz, and hearing Mr. Ambrose say "These will be the quickest, most exciting years of your lives," I really wasn't listening closely; or at least I didn't take it seriously.
If you don't know me well enough by now, let me tell you this. Band Camp has been one of the highlights of my summer for the past years. Not because I enjoy standing and moving in sweltering heat, getting disciplined and waking up early, but because of the people and traditions involved. Yes, our senior class has shrunk a lot since freshman year, but for the seventeen people that are left, these are some pretty awesome people. I trust them all.
