Back to Japan once more!

Sooo.
I'm back, who would have guessed? (Well, I've known for a couple of months now, but that's a different story xD.)
Anyways, so I'm doing an exchange semester at Tsukuba University. Tsukuba is a pretty nice place, a lot quieter than Tokyo and a lot more rural. Like, we got lakes and shit... and the cicadas are so loud it'll drive you crazy. But it's kinda cool.

So, as promised: lots of pictures again. I won't be able to keep this up for the whole six months, obviously. But whenever something cool or interesting happens, I'll be sure to update.

First things first: the flight. Was pretty awesome, but that's probably mainly due to the fact that I love flying xD. So, have some pretty sunrise pictures from out of the plane window. This was right above Hongkong.

Attention: favourite picture coming up! I love how the clouds blend into the city x3.

Traditionally: picture of the first drink I got at Narita airport. Tea's Tea, oh how I've missed you.

It was already dark when we finally arrived at the dorms. And I was way too exhausted to do anything much after I met my tutor and she walked me trough all the paper work...
But the next day I set out to explore the area a bit.
This is my room. Fancy much. I've got a fridge, tho, which is pretty cool. And I didn't have to pay for it because my tutor is a cool cat xD.

But yea, other than the fridge, I got a desk, a chair and a bed. At least this time I didn't have to go and buy a mattress and blanket. They were already provided.

This is the view from my window. It's like a little village made of student dormitories.

That's my dorm. Number 6. Oh and I got a bike, too. I haven't ridden a bike for about 20 years, it's going to be a huge... disaster lol. My tutor lent me that bike, again, because she's a cool cat.

That's the main building of my dormitory area. There are three different areas, I believe.

A map of the area.

Aaaand another map of the area. But this time it shows the whole campus. Which is huge. It's the largest in the world, actually. I'm located all the way in the north at Ichinoya Residence Hall. (Ignore, that this is actually an earthquake evacuation map lol.)

The place is also pretty green. Which is a nice contrast to Tokyo. The weather doesn't look too nice, but that was just the first day I got there. Ever since Sunday it's been sunny and about 25°C.

Lake. Even tho you can hardly see the water.

We got a botanical garden, too. Naturally, I had to go and take a look. It's super small, tho, but kinda pretty.

Got a huge running track, too.

These are some of the first University buildings I encountered. Science department, I think. Took the picture mainly for the cute arch way.

Also, there are lakes and trees and green areas everywhere.

Tsukuba University has a shit ton of sometimes very random statues and sculptures standing around growing moss. This one reads Miserere. Uplifting.

That's kind of the center of the university. The main Library, and it has a Starbucks, lol.

Another statue.

Another lake. It looked prettier in person. (Idek anymore why I took the picture xD)

Naked boy w/ owl.

A birdge. We gots lots of them, too. =B

I lol'd so hard. That's a supply shop for the artsy students.

Apparently, this is like Tsukubas most important historical person. He was famous in some kind of sport and a member of the olympic committee. He also kind of founded the University, if I understood the Engrish on his insignia correctly.

Random pillar, okay.

Random naked woman, okay.

Random seriously I have no idea what that's supposed to be, okay. Looks like a butt leaf.

Random WTF CREEPY THING, okay. I mean seriously, wtf. Creepcreepcreep.

Random back half of an elephant. Sure, why not.

This is kinda cool, tho. Note the girl sculpting. On a Saturday. During semester break. That's what I call dedication xD. (Or maybe she's behind on a deadline lol.)

Random, okay I give up, I don't know anymore lol.

Especially for Noi: the janitor's shed.

We even have a greenhouse. Looks pretty cool by night, yo.

The coolest thing: we have blue street lights! My tutor said it's to prevent crime (make people think non-criminal thoughts lol). Anyways, they are so so so pretty, I love them.

These are pictures I took today. We do have cats on campus just like there were on the campus in Tokyo. These ones here have a very mean stare, tho xDD. But they seem to be friendly enough, the orange one came up to me and nudged my foot. We're not supposed to pet or feed them, tho. (But you bet I'll do both.)

This is my room again, just to show a couple of improvements. I got curtains. They're pink. I also got a little shelf and some boxes to store my clothes in, you can see that on the left side. My walls look super empty, tho. I need some pictures, posters or post cards ;-;!

Aaaand snack time :3! Melon pan, some fruits and nuts mix AND fried mini fish. They are SO yum.

Okies, that's it for now with the pictures.
Hopefully, I shall be able to go to Tokyo, tomorrow. If not, I'll prolly go on saturday. Really, really itching to visit Akiba and Ikebukuro again. Classes officially start on Thursday but I haven't even gotten my schedule yet xD. We'll see, I guess...
