Coronation Ceremony letter

Dear Coronation Ceremony Writer,

Thank you so much for offering to write a story for me! I love The Goblin Emperor and its characters, but I was especially excited to see that worldbuilding could be nominated for this exchange. I've provided some prompts in case you're looking for inspiration, but I'd also love to see whatever other ideas capture your imagination.

CHARACTERS: I've requested worldbuilding, but I'm fine with including any canon characters or any original characters you want.

LIKES: In worldbuilding, I like sense of wonder, sweep of history, and ordinary details of everyday life.

DISLIKES: I generally prefer optimistic stories for exchanges, so I'm not keen on anything that is brutally violent or depressingly bleak. However, I don't mind darkness as long as there is a glimmer of light. Bittersweet endings are also fine.

RATING: I'm fine with explicit sex, but it's usually not the most important part of the story for me.

STYLE: I'm fine with first, second, or third person. I'm fine with past or present tense. I'm fine with stories of any length, including stories that start in media res.

CROSSOVERS: I would prefer no crossovers with other canons.

AUS: I like seeing the characters in their own settings, so I would prefer no alternate universes like high school, coffee shop, or omegaverse. However, I like alternate universes where something happened differently in canon.

I hope this helps. Have fun writing!

Yours sincerely,

Request 1: Worldbuilding: The Clocksmiths' Guild - fanfic, podfic

I love that steampunk is part of this fantasy world, and how technology exists alongside magic. And clockwork is one of the defining motifs of steampunk. How did the Clocksmiths' Guild start, and what does their work cover? What made them interested in the problem of spanning the Istandaartha, and how did they come up with their bridge design? What other cool projects might they have dreamed up?

Request 2: Worldbuilding: Food and Drink - fanfic, podfic

I love descriptions of delicious food, but I'm also interested in descriptions of unusual food! What goes on behind the scenes in the kitchens of the Alcethmeret? Is there someone learning to cook something for the first time, maybe for someone else? Is there a popular dish currently in fashion, or an ancient recipe newly rediscovered? Are there ingredients that are hard to acquire?

Request 3: Worldbuilding: Festivals - fanfic, podfic

We see something of Winternight in the book. What kinds of celebrations take place? And what other festivals exist in this world: seasonal, religious, artistic, or sporting? What are some differences or similarities between elven and goblin traditions? Is there someone visiting another city or nation, who takes part in a local festival for the first time?
