Business Management? /Me?/

Well, oddly enough, yes. I find in myself a surprising talent for and interest in certain aspects of business management. Specifically, process improvement and task scheduling/resource loading.

That is to say, figuring out how to do things better, and figuring out how to plan things so people aren't overworked or left twiddling thumbs.

The real 'trick' as it were was when I realized that this management stuff is, by and large, a lot of common sense things, just buried in buzzwords and jargon. So the right brain task is to present this common sense stuff in a readable, common sense way. It's... figuring out what needs to be done, and explaining the "hows" and "whys" of those tasks in a way that everyone can understand, so that everyone can know more of the whole picture.

Good management of this sort isn't about making the current task easier. Good management is figuring out how to use what this task taught us to make the following tasks easier. Figuring out simple things that will save work down the line.

As for task scheduling, that's the sort of left brain logic puzzle that my mind latches onto and ADORES. I can't really explain HOW I do it, I only know that shifting the numbers around into a better, more efficient way makes me happy.
