This is a really great hot sauce. It was incredibly spicy, but with an overriding smoky, dirty chipotle flavor. I am thinking of getting a bottle. I can't eat more than a drop of it at a time, so one bottle should last a loooong time. In fact, it might be worth diluting, possibly

Will you explain to emotionally illiterate me how this thing works? Do I need to put it on my wordpress blog? On my lj? What is it for?

It's kind of like a flytrap for spam robots. Those are the programs that crawl around the web looking for e-mail addresses -- you know, the reason everyone tries to disguise their e-mail address like john (at) gmail or whatever instead of spelling out john@gmail.com. Basically, the idea is just to get those robots to stumble into that page, where they will get stuck for hours sucking up fake, randomly generated e-mail addresses, which pollute the e-mail databases of the spammers. I don't know how much the noise pollution will really affect spammers, but at the very least it makes their numbers of valid e-mail addresses more unreliable and slows the rate at which they can scoop up more addresses -- making those robots a less effective method.

So all you have to do really, is create more links to that link. That way, any spam robot that visits your site will follow that link (especially if it's one of the first links) and get stuck there. At least until they're specifically programmed to avoid it; we'll see what happens.

Yeah - that link is very smart and something I'm going to think about using, but I do wonder about how hard it really is to block given that you're always linking to officeofstrategicinfluence.com. The distributed version of the site will likely eliminate those problems and will rock. Thanks for the resource!

that sauce looks beyond good. i think i'll buy two bottles...one for me and one to donate to the hot sauce rack at my favorite breakfast place (the dish, in that weird place that is neither fremont nor ballard but could be both...frelard? ballmont?) because the world needs more hot sauce.

i like hot and spicy and chipotle-ish all in one. that's the important part. mmmm. i want it just from reading the description.
