What I had really meant to say... was resolutions

Jan 07, 2011 10:16

I have at present two resolution-goals*,** for this year. One is a positive practice and the other harder to phrase that way, but equally if not more important. It's also best illustrated.

1. This is for my body and therefore the mind within it: I will enjoy every bite of food I have. (and by corollary, I will not take bites if I'm not about to really, truly, joyfully enjoy it.) This may or may not change either type or amount of food I eat; I'll let you know, maybe.

2. My planner calendar for 2011:

After:

The image taped over "do-it-all" is part of an Ursula Vernon painting which appeared in her 2007 Calendar, "Rodents I Have Known". In case you can't tell, it's a rat with a square-headed sledgehammer. The more I think about this for 2011, the more I enjoy it. Reasons keep occurring to me. Heh.

OK, back to helping baby with shoes and scarves, and boy with getting better from strep throat. (Sickness is a fudge factor!)

* In strategic planning, goals are measurable. Neither of these has a direct measurement, so perhaps I should call them vision statements for the year. But that would be silly.

** OK, I also have a huge lists of Things to Accomplish, but I don't like to call them my resolutions. I may or may not take a page from ellenmillion's book, both in setting monthly chunks and in motivations/rewards. I am not yet sure how well that will work for me given the need for fudge factors in my day-to-day, but the discipline in thinking and planning would certainly help. So we'll see. (pause for fudge I mean upset baby...) (OK, back to the start of the ** notes...)

mind body & soul, plan it!
