inyfacemckelvey ponders an age old question:

given a narrow path, who has the right of way?
a. me, pushing a baby in a stroller

b. an angry lesbian in a wheelchair, smoking a cigarette

she thought b. i thought a. disaster ensued.

Context isn't really necessary, this is the post in its entirety.

Of course someone who can't walk shouldn't be given right of way by someone who can! That's outrageous. Next people will be suggesting that the wheelchair spots on buses are for wheelchairs rather than baby buggies! Insane.

For serious. Personal addictions and sexual orientation don't factor in. That woman COULD NOT WALK. Oy.

Neither could the baby. If the wheelchair had been pushed by a (cheerful heterosexual) person would it have made a difference?

So, if it was a nice little old lady in a wheelchair that wasn't smoking, would she concede to her on the sidewalk?

Personally I would think you'd just let someone smoking a cigarette get by as quickly as possible if you're baby toting. I mean, I smoke sometimes and I definitely try to get away from babies and kids.

I can't help but wonder whether the woman in the wheelchair was angry before or just after the disaster?

I'm trying to visualize this...she put her baby (and the disabled person) at risk of injury by playing "chicken" with a disabled person?

I'm not sure you posted this to the right community...mock_the_stupid is over that way...

I think it comes down to which can get up the most momentum.

and this is why all baby chairs and wheelchairs would be fitted with rocket engines if I ruled the world.

Then again, you can achieve the same effect with two CO2 fire extinguishers...

Yes, our man Hammond is full of wonderful ideas.

And you could probably fit a spike on the front as well.
