I always wanted to run an ad that ran:

"After almost a decade and a half of dominating Congress, over five years of holding the presidency, and over a year now of dominating the Supreme Court, the Republicans still haven't banned flag burning, homosexuality, or abortion. Prayer in school is still banned.

The Republicans thank you for your vote. Sucker."

Nice.

Now I want to see the two or three Republicans on MQ bring up that Democrats get lobby money just as well & just as grossly, that President Clinton misused the power of his various political offices to coerce dumb & often ugly women into sex acts, and that the empty promises made to gay & gay-friendly voters became the "Don't ask, don't tell" legislation which caused more problems than existed before the "Get in the Closet, soldier!" nonsense.

To be truly fair & balanced, I think it's safe to say that the donkeys are as bad as the elephants once they get to a certain level of power. Power corrupts, period. No matter the party line...

While all poor Dubya did was start a war and cause the deaths of thousands upon thousands of people. Oh, and spy on us. And also make it so he can imprison you for no reason, for as long as he wants.

All Bill wanted was a blowjob.

It's easy to say he just wanted some head, but in the Paula Jones case she filed for sexual harrassment. Of course her case got derailed & the media made her look like a harpy, but what if she was in fact harrassed and like so many cases of sexual crimes, the victim becomes the guilty? As for Lewinsky, it's easy to see after the Starr report and various interviews with Monica herself, that she was a bit of a starstruck dumb kid who saw her crush actualized.

I'm in no way excusing the Bush Administration. They should ALL be tried for grand treason. I'm just tired of the smug "Democrats are right" propaganda.

It's politics, nobody's right. I think everybody (including myself) should just have a constant reminder of that taped to their foreheads. Keeps us from getting into discussions that frustrate everybody while we're not in fact disagreeing.

Um...I'd think it's more accurate to say it's because they are all those things and because people let them.
