I struggle with this as well, particularly on facebook, I started my facebook as a professional space with lots of co-workers friending me, I don't friend folks I don't know well and i need to know something about their life outside the scene...

Just don't want my work folks to know too much, even if they know the basics...that I am kinky , and poly but I don't need to share details...

It's funny how life changes :) As a girl who is also living a more private and quiet life, I have found that sometimes people who are out all over don't consider or get that someone else may not be. You chose people you think will use discretion, but it might not hurt to make sure your preferences are known - so that no one accidently crosses a line they may not have realized was there.

It seems to be something about facebook. I also went through the thought process of do I create a "leather" page and an everybody else page. I decided that I would see where it goes and keep everyone on one page.

I have found that the comments and what first comes up on the site seem to stay pretty much PG but some of the invites do at times squick me. I know that it can all be searched and if somebody wanted to sort out the connection they could. I am however amazed at the amount of data that is out there so my sense is that most of my concerns I have actually get lost in the clutter and never get noticed.

I like the integration aspect and hope folks do respect the space and keep it as a way to connect all the parts!
