The man paused in the act of chucking this little conversation heart to the increasingly strung out hippogriff on the other side of the room who had been snatching them out of the air with relish for the last half hour.
Studying the tiny pink candy, Sirius mulled over the implications of one very sweet kiss he had witnessed not two days before finding this half empty box of Muggle sweets abandoned in the front hall.

Dashing through the door, late once again for the scheduled Order meeting and going far too quickly considering her propensity for extravagant clumsiness, Tonks managed to trip over both the ragged hall carpet and the hanging drapes surrounding the detested portrait of the late Mrs. Black. The portrait wasted no time in alerting far and near of her arrival in no uncertain terms.
“Blood Traitor! Filth! Be gone from these ancient halls!”
“Alright, alright already! Hush up you great bloody harpy!” Tonks staggered to her feet, yanking on the curtains rather too hard, causing one side to threaten to pull loose completely from the wall. She wobbled again as the fabric gave unexpectedly, blushing furiously as she attempted to right herself awkwardly.
Out of the corner of her eye, Tonks had spied Remus entering the hall. No doubt here to help clean up after clumsy Tonks again, she grimaced.
In her haste to be upright and untangled in front of the man she was becoming increasingly attached to, Tonks only succeeded in wrapping the loose curtains more firmly about her ankles so that, stepping forward with a sheepish look on her heart shaped face, her feet were yanked out from under her and she crashed headlong into Remus Lupin’s hastily outstretched arms.
“Nice catch.” And Tonks hid her face in Remus’s sleeve as he helped her to her feet, still inwardly cursing her two left feet. Just heap burning coals upon my head why don’t you, Tonks mentally berated herself, though all that would likely accomplish is that I’d probably manage to burn headquarters down and then where would we be?
She studied the floor as he reattached the curtains and silenced the shrieking portrait. He needed new shoes, his old boots were worn thin, she’d get him a pair for his birthday. It wasn’t until he reached over and tilted her chin up that Tonks saw the compassion in his eyes that had nothing to do with pity.
“You do know how to make an entrance.”
Sticking her tongue out at him, she replied, “How else am I supposed to get you alone for two seconds at a time?”
He smiled and Tonks’ expression took on an impish cast as she effected, probably for the first time in her life, to trip and accomplished her goal of falling into his arms again. Remus blinked as she took advantage of his nearness to lean up and place a soft quick kiss on his lips. Then she had to struggle yet again for balance as Remus' grip on her slipped.
Shaking his head abruptly, he altered his grasp on her arms and lifted her up. As Tonks looked up into his face she felt warmth creep across her own features as a hesitant smile lit Remus’ face.
“Happy Valentine’s Day.”
From the shadows of the doorway down to the kitchen, a dark haired man retreated and left the happy couple to their private moment.

Sirius tucked the candy into his pocket. Remus really needed to share these sorts of things with him more often; after all, Tonks was his cousin. Grinning, he reached for another little heart as he contemplated various ways to get Moony to spill his guts.
“Be Good.”
Toss.
