Quick DVD Review: Good Luck Chuck
Good Luck Chuck ( Blu-Ray / Release Date: 21 September 2007 / MPAA Rating: Unrated; originally, R / Running Time: 1 hr., 41 min.; originally, 1 hr., 36 min. ) started out funny enough but ended up just bad. Not even the copious gratuitous nudity of the unrated version could save it; unfortunately, Jessica Alba kept her clothes on. I cannot even recommend renting this; I wish I had not. I put the Blu-Ray player on 1.5x speed and watched it. You can still hear the dialog but everyone looks like they are on speed. It was a little bit funnier that way.
Chuck, a dentist, was cursed at a very young age when he rejected a goth girl in a closet after playing spin the bottle. Chuck was cursed to never know love. After having sex with Chuck, the next guy (or, apparently, girl) the women dated would be the one. After this becomes known, Chuck has sex a lot. There was a whole montage of sex scenes. Eventually, Chuck meets and falls in love with Cam (Jessica Alba) but screws it up because he is all freaked out about the curse. You can guess the ending.
