The last two days have been amazing. My buddy Gary, I met him back at Riley when I first came to the post. We hung out in reception alot. So I'm sitting in the chowhall yesterday during lunch and guess who comes up to shake my hand. Yes. Gary. He is really awesome and funny as hell.
He's re-enlisting in November, and he got Germany for 3 years. Plus a 10 thousand dollar bonus. I just got back from his room and we had a blast. This whole tour has really changed for me. He just brings out the best in me as a person and I'm totally just relaxed. He's a sergeant like me and so we get along great. Great guy.
So today I had lunch with him at the chowhall and he was another sergeant that he works with, and she's pretty funny too. She is such a flirt. It was very interesting. Gary told me that she was asking about me all day after I had lunch with them. Still got it. Lol.
Anyway. I'm half tempted to re-enlist and try and get Germany. I mean, this dude is awesome. He is like my best friend. We're going to go to the gym daily at 1930 each day, I'm going to start running again so I won't struggle on these PT tests anymore. That's the one thing that I want to get out of the Military for. I hate PT tests. But he shared a bit of wisdom with me. He's not trying to get me to re-enlist, but he explained to me, how bad is Iraq? I mean, a year long deployment will get you your toys. Another deployment will get you a nice down payment on a home and one more will seal the deal. Its pretty awesome if you think about it like that. Yeah, it sucks out here, but it sucks everywhere. Plus, everything is paid for and you got no worries but dying.
