So last Friday we went over to fortinbras16 & Co's place to play the new Star Wars RPG. It went very well, Doc Bosch did an excellent job setting up life among the outcast Jedi out on the fringe...before my character and an assload of Stormtroopers showed up to ruin it!

That's funny, we're off tomorrow for our lake vacation, renting a cabin for the week.

Does that 25-point buy lameness extend to D&D as well?

I don't know about D&D. The point buy trouble with Star Wars is that if you take any stat above 16, your overall bonuses will be worse than the average rolled character (since the 16s, 17s, and 18s cost so much). So we rolled, and it was much better. I think I might artificially lower one of my stats, since a 16, 16, 16, 16, 17, 12 character kind of defies probability.

I think the point costs are the same, but I didn't do a side-by-side comparison. I am pretty sure that what mrsmetallian mentioned with ability score increases over 15 costing extra is true in D&D, though.
