I went to the zoo last Friday, but never got around to posting my pictures. I took close to one hundred of them, but I'll only upload a couple. Here's my favorite of the bunch:
There is a glass window that you can look through, and this snow leopard was right up against it. It looks so sweet, but I'm sure it would kill me if it had the chance. The male and female leopards were separated because the female was pregnant. I'm not sure which one this is.
Throughout the summer, the zoo is having a special exhibit where you can touch sting rays. It only costs a dollar, so we decided to check it out. There were a whole bunch of sting rays in a fairly large tank that was under a tent. All you had to do was stick your hand in the water and wait for the rays to swim by. I got to touch a whole bunch. They mostly just felt soft and slimy. The middle of their back felt kind of rough. I was kind of paranoid that one of them would stick their barb up and it would go through my wrist. But nothing crazy like that happened. It was hard to get a good picture, so here's a not so great one. I think that is my sister's arm, but I'm not sure.
This is Cookie, who is over 70 years old. He has been at the zoo ever since it opened, (which was in 1934) and he was an adult back then. It must suck to live for that long, only to be stuck in a tiny enclosure. Poor guy. He is a very pretty pink. Too bad this picture is crap.
Parrots killing grooming each other.
A lot of the animals were sleeping or looked really hot. Here are the sleeping ones:
I love this sand cat. Every time I go to the zoo, I make sure to see him. He is so cute and looks like he could be a regular house pet.
This lion looks dead.
A passed out seal.
Here are some hot animals:
Hot in a sexy way: The Baboon. Okay, just kidding. That would be totally gross. But his ass is very colorful.
Now these are hot because of the temperature:
The tiger just chilling in his little waterfall pool area.
A panting leopard. S/he reminded me of my dog.
A tired out brown bear. The other bear was swimming, but I thought this one was cuter.
A penguin taking a swim.
Babies!
Adorable polar bear baby getting sprayed with water.
One more of the little guy.
The mommy bear scratching herself.
One gorilla baby and its mother.
Another gorilla baby and mother.
A bored gorilla.
And finally, a meerkat huddle.
I'm tempted to upload more photos, but this is probably more than enough.
