I ain't quittin' you!

Christmas was okay. We went over to my Uncle's house and there was no drama. I basically sat on their couch all day and watched basketball and football on their new TV that sits on top of their broken TV. I'm not a big sports fan and don't really enjoy watching them on television, so that pretty much sucked. My eighteen-year-old cousin is robbing the cradle and dating a dude who is still a junior in high school. He made a Build-A-Bear for her that says "I love you Courtney" when you squeeze it's paw. He also sprayed his cologne all over it. She made him a Scooby-Doo blanket and sprayed her perfume all over it. Ahh, young love. During the drive home I got into a big argument with my dad and brother about racism. My brother will say some fucked up shit just to get a reaction out of me.

I've watched a lot of movies recently. I saw Night at the Museum. Some parts were funny, and it wasn't too bad. I have to confess, I like Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson together. We also rented some movies. The Break-Up was a comedy? Really? The only thing I liked about that movie was Justin Long (the gay secretary), and he was barely in the movie. Tonight I watched The Devil Wears Prada. I think I enjoyed the movie more than the book, but I don't remember too much about the book. I do remember being disappointed by the conclusion. We also rented Strangers With Candy and The Black Dahlia, but haven't watched those yet.

I finally finished reading another book. I had been reading a lot recently, but then all of a sudden I lost the desire to read anything. Anyways, I read The Sea by John Banville. I had a hard time getting into the plot and was bored throughout most of it. I wouldn't recommend it. I doubt I'll be reading anymore books this year (since there are only two days left) so I'll post my booklist. Damn, I almost made it to forty.

I had my group interview on Wednesday. I used mapquest to get directions, but those directions sucked. They failed to tell me to make a right turn on a certain street. So I couldn't find the damn place and drove around like an idiot. Finally, I find the place, but the interview had already started 15 minutes earlier. Since it was a group interview, I figured they had already started, and I didn't want to walk in late like a jackass. I feel bad for saying I would show up to the interview and then standing them up, but I don't feel bad about missing this job opportunity. Truthfully, I don't think this is a job that I would have really liked. I would have been a Youth Care Worker for developmentally disabled kids. I really have no interest in this type of work, but I was getting desperate for a job. In her Christmas card, my aunt said that I should send my resume to her husband because the Chicago office of his company is hiring. I e-mailed it to him, but I have no idea if he can hook me up with anything.

Tomorrow I might go to the zoo and see their Holiday Magic festivities. I have no major plans for New Year's Eve. I may go out to eat with the family, but that's about it. I'm not a big New Year's Eve person. Some relatives are supposed to come over on New Year's Day. They haven't been over to our house in years, so it should be weird.

books, movies, new year's eve, christmas, zoo, job stuff
