Say "auf Wiedersehen" to your Nazi balls!

-During the week, I pretty much always eat Honey Nut Cheerios for breakfast. On the weekends, I just eat whatever the heck I want. It's usually not very healthy, but dammit, if I want to have dessert for breakfast, I will. Yesterday was ice cream and today was cake. Mmm. I should try to eat something healthy for lunch. I have no idea what that will be.

-I went to the movies yesterday. First, we saw Inglourious Basterds. I thought it was excellent. There was a lot of talking, but I tend to like "talky" movies. I loved that people were speaking so many different languages. I was really impressed with a lot of the actors. Brad Pitt was good, but I couldn't help thinking, "That's Brad Pitt" the whole time he was on screen. My two favorites were probably the woman who played Shosanna and the man who played Col. Hans Landa. I didn't really mind the length of the movie, but I did start to get bored during Chapter 4. I felt it went on too long, but at least it had a kick-ass ending. Then the movie went on to Chapter 5, and it was all good again.

-After that, we decided to stay and sneak into another movie - The Time Traveler's Wife. I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about the movie. I want to separate it from the book, but that's pretty impossible for me to do. I saw it with my mom and sister, and neither of them have read the book, but they did like the movie. I suppose I liked it too, but I did feel a bit disappointed in Henry and Clare's onscreen relationship. I've heard critics complain that McAdams and Bana didn't have good chemistry. I didn't think that was the problem. For me, the movie didn't spend enough time developing their relationship and showing why these two people loved each other so much. I had heard that they changed the ending, so I was worried about that, but it wasn't too bad. I think they still could have tacked on the book ending right after the new scene that they created to end the movie. Overall, it was a good adaption, but it could have been so much better.

-Now onto books. I've reached 52! My goal is 70, but it still feels good to get to 52 because if you were trying to read a book a week, you would end up with 52 at the end of the year. Earlier in the year I wasn't sure if I could make it to 70, but it's definitely doable now. There are four more months left, so that means I have to read five books in two of the months and four in the other two. I've had Sookie Stackhouse on the brain recently. I've read the first six books, but I'm going to make myself take a little break from the series. I'm really enjoying it though. I'm having trouble deciding what to read next. I was going to go to the library, but I don't know what to get. I also still have a bunch of unread books sitting on my desk, so I should probably get to those.

-I am not happy with the weather. It has been in the 60s this past week. It's August! It should still be hot. I do like fall weather, but that quickly leads to winter weather, so I'm not quite ready for summer to be over. At least it's supposed to warm up next week and be in the seventies.
