I haven't voted yet, but I will later today. We're allowed to leave the office at 3 p.m. to vote. I'm looking forward to it! I have to vote at my old elementary school, so I'm kind of excited about that too. I was planning on going there right after work, but then I'd get to the school around 3:30-3:40, and that's right when the kids will be leaving. If I go home first, I can change clothes and then just walk to the school, which should take me about 5 minutes. It's nice outside and I can use the exercise. I just hope that there isn't a huge line. I had to wait a really long time during the last presidential election, so I fear that it will be even worse for this one. I thought that I wrote about that experience, but I searched my journal and didn't find anything. I did find an
entry from the day before the election. Heh, I was scared that Bush would win. Yeah. I am much more optimistic this year. I think that Obama will win. I really, really, really hope so.
ETA: I voted at 4:00 today. There was no wait at all. The school gym was pretty empty, and I was in and out in no time. I colored in the circles with a black marker, stuck my ballot in the machine, and then got my sticker. Fun times. It was cool because I've actually met someone who was on the ballot (he used to be our board president and I met him last January at a dinner). He's running for our county's Auditor. No one was running against him, so I had no choice but to vote for him. Now it's time to wait and watch as the results come in.
