For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand

As I was sitting on the toilet this morning, I happened to glance down at the floor, and I noticed Bear Grylls' big face staring back at me. He didn't bother me, so I just went about my business. Later I flipped the magazine over to see what it was (Entertainment Weekly) and saw Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones looking at me. I kind of laughed to myself because the whole thing made me flash back to my younger days. My mom used to keep tons of magazines in the bathroom, and they always ended up spread out across the floor. If I ever saw someone's face staring back at me, I had to flip the magazine over. If there was a face on the other side too, I had to cover up the magazine or open it up to a page without people on it. I knew that the people on the magazine couldn't really see me, but for some reason, it really bothered me. It felt like they were watching me, and I couldn't allow them to see me use the toilet or see me naked. Ah, I could probably go on and on about all of the odd things I did as a child.

I have had a lot more time to read recently, and yesterday I finished The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue. I guess you would classify it as a fantasy novel because it's about hobgoblins/changelings. The chapters alternate between the two main characters, Aniday and Henry. I liked the book and really enjoyed getting the story from both of their perspectives. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending. I would have liked the author to go on a little more, but I suppose you can make up how you think things will end for the characters. I felt sad for both of them after I finished, but it seemed like things were changing for the better and their lives would start to improve.
