Soccer
Peru is a total enigma for me when it comes to soccer.
Out of the eight qualifying games we have played for the 2010 World Cup, we've lost three, tied up 4, and won only one. When we play against teams that are relatively easy, we lose or we tie the game. Either that, or we do awfully bad like we did with Ecuador and Uruguay. Losing five to nothing against Uruguay was shameful.
Despite all this, Peru ties one to one against Brazil, one to one against Argentina, and loses to Spain (current winner of the Eurocup) in a friendly game this year for one goal that was scored nearly at the end of the match. These are some of the best teams in the world. When we play against them, we look extremely competitive. However, put us against Jamaica, Ecuador, or Venezuela, and we don't do shit.
