YAY!

I've been super busy lately, so I decided it's time to update this thing.

The week before Irish Fest was effing crazy. I was packing and hanging out with friends all week. Tuesday, I went on a sail boat for two hours with Brittany, DJ, Dana, and Brandon. Mr. DeVorse (DeVorse? hahahaha...), my AP MacroEcon and AP Gov't teacher told us that if we got a 4 or 5 on either test he'd take us on his sailboat w/ friends. I was the only one to take him up on it, haha. It was really fun!

Irish Fest was fucking amazing, of course. Choir was ok; we could've done better. Kari (Karl's friend) came with her friend Craig, and they were really cool! We hung out with them on Saturday and Sunday. Craig was REALLY pretty, which is always a plus. We saw Gaelic Storm on Friday and Sunday, and they kicked ass as usual. Craig hates bagpipes and accordions, which was really funny. He was making fun of Peter the whole time he was piping, so now whenever a GS song with bagpipes comes on, I start laughing. On Sunday, we were sitting in the ceili tent and this AWFUL band started playing and there were chairs on the floor! We were like wtf, we wanted to ceili dance! Well, ok, the band wasn't that bad, but the singer guy was painful. He had like 3 notes that he sang, and all of them were off key. And he tried for vibrato, but missed. At one point, Brandon shouted "GO HOME!" but it got really quiet right before he said it, so it echoed, haha.

The choir sang with The Celtic Tenors. They were AMAZING. There are three of them: Daryl, James, and Matthew. Daryl is the director of the Omagh Community Youth Choir, which the MIFC sang with when we toured Ireland last year. We watched them for as long as we could on Friday and Sunday before we had to go backstage. Their concert on Saturday was cancelled because it was raining and cold as fuck. We were trying to stay for the Gaelic Storm concert, but we ended up just going home. Anyway, we sat in the front row for their concert and it was so much fun! At one point, James looked at me and blew me a kiss, haha. After we all walked off stage on Sunday, Daryl was giving all of us hugs, and I got a hug from Matthew as well. They were super nice and excited to have us sing with them. They've all got the most amazing voices! I think they were the highlight of my weekend, other than friends, of course.

This weekend, I got closer to a lot of people. Karl was funny and awesome as per usual, and, as usual, I'm going to miss him like hell. I got a lot closer to Brandon, too. He's SO smart! I loved all of the random info he'd come out with! I talked to Julia and Clarkie a lot this weekend, too. I love those chicas. I spent a lot of time with Brittany just like the rest of the summer. I stuck to her like glue, haha. Brittany, why did we decide to get close the summer before we had to go to college? I've gotten to know her better than anyone else and I'm going to miss her <------------------------------------------THIS------------------------------------------> much!

I moved in yesterday! My apartment is AMAZING! The ceilings are SUPER high, like at least 15 ft. I'm on the 6th floor, and the view is so cool! So far, one of my roommates, Roxanne, has moved in. She seems really cool! She and her friend and I went exploring on the L last night and we managed to not get totally lost! I'm so excited to be here in Chicago with awesome people and awesome classes and awesome experiences and awesome theatre! I'm really happy and really excited right now!

END.
