Viva Las Vegas!!

I returned home from Las Vegas last night just after 2am...wow, what an amazing place!! :) I'm no richer though, so please no one ask me for any loans, lol. The weather was over 100 degrees everyday (116 when we touched down in Phoenix on the way there! It was supposed to be a direct flight, but they had to make a detour as something was wrong with the air conditioning/cabin pressure in our plane...at least I finally got to finish reading my Bruce Campbell book!). The air conditioning in the hotel and every casino & mall made up for the heat. The food was amazing (especially the champagne brunch and the free Bloody Marys when you're playing slots, mmm ya gotta love being drunk first thing in the morning), but there was so much salmon of every kind at every buffet...I don't think I want to eat that again for at least a month! hehe. Our hotel room was on the 26th floor, so it was a bit of a maze finding it at first, what with 40 freaking elevators in the Flamingo, lol! I got a mild sunburn lounging on the chaise beside the pool, listening to old forgotten '80s tunes and taking morning dips...that was totally THE LIFE. As soon as we got there, we bought $21 margaritas in 3-foot high cups...I don't think I want any tequila for awhile either, hahaha.
We took a shuttle to the Palms twice and saw Hart & Huntington's Tattoo Shop from the tv show Inked, that was pretty cool. The slot machines in there were awesome, they had apparent new ones called The Twilight Zone and I kicked ass on those (then lost everything, go figure...just gotta keep playing when it's so fun & you keep getting free drinks!! The waitresses were amazed at how old I am)
We also played Betty Boop, The Munsters, Hexbreaker, and Wheel of Fortune slot machines...super great fun. :)
Though I lost my wallet on the shuttle coming back from the Palms the second time!! (that's not really anything new if you know me well enough, eep) Jen was gonna go pass out in our hotel room while I played more slots close by, then I realized I didn't have my wallet...ran outside & the shuttle was gone. I was a bit of a freaking-out mess until that same shuttle returned (3 shuttles later) & my wallet was still right there, on the floor by my seat! So of course I had to play a bunch more slots due to the obvious luck :) Unfortunately I do wish that I had bought that House of Blues guitar purse.
Now it's back to the grind (work tomorrow), then the STRAPPING YOUNG LAD concert on Monday (my favourite), I can't wait!!! I think I'm going on some booze cruise with Carli on Tuesday too.

On my last night in Las Vegas, I cried myself to sleep thinking about Emily...figured it was due to PMS, then later realized that the date was exactly 3 months since she passed away. I guess I just feel like it's not really fair that I get to enjoy myself so much, and she had to die. I think about her constantly.
