(no subject)
I have lost my LJ mojo, using facebook to post my random thoughts. I rarely come on LJ anymore and can't really think of anything worth mentioning. My life is pretty mundane, days passing quickly as I try to rush through my work day in order to get home to spend time with my boys. The weekends fly by as I try to take care of everything that gets neglected during the week. Forgetting a ton, unable to keep up with my friendships (time for phone calls is rare). Not really happy with this routine, but that's life.
I did my first 5K in almost 2 years on Saturday. Surprisingly, it was very easy. I signed up for another one in a week and a half. This one is actually timed and without the color stations every kilometer like the Color Run, I wonder how easy I will think it is. We shall see, but it makes me feel better to actually be doing something to help feel better about myself. I would love to say I'll run some more races, but with the temperature rising quickly, I don't know if I'll be able to.
Owen is getting quite feisty. He definitely has a mind of his own and likes to make it known to all. Nice screaming tantrums when I won't let him do things like going through the doggie door when it's raining (oh, yes- he likes to use it when it's not raining) or climb headfirst out of his carseat. When he isn't screaming or getting into mischief, he is a good helper. Wiping off counters, toilet seats, end tables with anything he can find, putting his clothes in the hamper, handing mom things she needs, etc. We're going to get him a sandbox for the yard because he's very interested in helping mom with the raised garden bed, screaming because I won't give him the hand fork or small shovel. Hopefully the sandbox with some plastic tools will deter him. Yeah, right.
