Nearly halfway through July

Jul 14, 2006 09:47

The end of the month of May, the entire month of June and now the beginning of July have absolutely flown by. Ok, strange...Just received a text message from Tracy, the guy I hung out with in McGregor for a little while. But while he's at work sometimes, he randomly sends text messages to people. This one said, "Just incase you forgot, YOU ROCK!" At least he thinks he's making a difference in other people's days.

This summer has been full of mostly work with some events every now and then. I don't work really long hours or anything, but I havn't done a lot more than that. Work has been amazing. I've had a few days where it's been really boring, but right now, I have several things to tackle which is fun because they're all different and I get to see so many different things. I love being around bowling and the technology. It's fun to talk to the other guys here and listen to some of their stories, hear their opinions. I'm enjoying it. My research seems like it will be put to use and it's good to see things that you're doing be applied to the game.

So Summerfest 2006 has come and gone. I went 2 days which easily could have been more. I love going down there and listening to all the different music. I was there Monday the 3rd when I saw Phil Vassar with my friend Jon who is an RA in Morrow Hall in Platteville. Him and I struggled though math class together and he's so much fun to hang out with. He came down on the 2nd then stayed for that and left in the morning on the 4th. So it was good to be back with him. On Saturday the 8th I went with Stevie and Ashley B. becasue Stevie wanted to see Guster. I'm not a huge fan, but I like some of it. Most of it though I find kinda boring. But I was there because Stevie wanted to go, had a good time though. Dan came to visit a little and meet up with is girlfriend at Summerfest. Dan and I were both RAs on 3rd floor. Him and I were on-call together for both our weekends. It was good to see him again also. Dan, Jon and I would hang out and study a lot together towards the end of the semester, so it was really good to see them again. They're both great guys, crazy, fun, and definately entertaining. Jen and I call them "Dumb and Dumber" because they're both really smart, but when they're together, they tend to do rather dumb things. But it's never dull with them.

I've been to several Brewers games this summer also, some with more favorable results than others. The last one I went to was against the Cubs becasue Ashley had tickets and Patrick wasn't going. Well, let me tell you I now remember why I havn't been to a Brewers Cubs game in a long time. Cubs fans are so obniouxous, they're horrible to be around. But we did have fun. I'm looking forward to the 2nd half of the season. They have some work to do and I'd love to see them pull it together and get some of their big Arms back.

Tonight I'm headed to Bastile (I'm not French so I don't know how to spell) Days I think. Meeting Dad and we'll see. Scott is taking a tour of my work and the research facility before we head down there. I'm excited for him to see the lanes. It'll be fun. I have a couple balls that I pluged the finger holes on, so I'm going to drill those later today also. So hoping for a nice weekend that doesn't get too warm.

Hope everyone's enjoying their summers. Stay cool this weekend!
