How to turn a day around
Today was mammogram day. I had a bit of the jitters, but thanks to my therapist and my Hubz, I walked in breathing pretty normally, did what had to be done and walked out feeling very proud of myself and also feeling very well. "Well" as in "healed". *smile*
And then my beloved did his magic. He told me that he'd taken as much of the day off as they would allow. He didn't have to be back at work until 4:30pm (had the mammogram late morning). So, he took me to our favorite breakfast place (since we never go out to eat anymore, this was a HUGE treat). I had my favorite omelet and fruit cup and Hubz had his favorite "bennies" (eggs benedict) and then we headed for the park where we spent more than an hour, enjoying the warmth of the sun, snuggling together, watching the ducks and geese swimming and walking and talking to one another, and just talked about happy things. It was the best healing medicine in the world. We both needed it and we both came away laughing and smiling and all sun-shiny.
I drove him to work and came back home singing away with the songs on the radio. And I came home to a fluffy cat who wants some snuggling, too! :)
Doesn't get much better than this. :)
