Today there was shopping and packing and eating. My mother and I went to the mall this morning to see the new Bed Bath and Beyond that just opened. It was nice. I also managed to buy a shirt and a new pair of jeans (score!) while we were out. We came back and finished packing.
For some reason, I have this rabid hunger to read the great Southern writers all of a sudden, so I procured Faulkner from the library (The Sound and the Fury and As I Lay Dying) to take with me. I figured this would also be a good excuse to read The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, considering that it's been sitting on my shelf for literally years and I haven't read it yet. So I'm taking those as well as Chaim Potak's My Name Is Asher Lev.
We went to San Jose for dinner, which was good as always. The rest of the evening was ordinary, but I enjoyed it, since I won't have it for a while. We watched Jeopardy and Everybody Loves Raymond. I messed around on the internet - Livejournal and SimplyStreep are such addictions. Good times.
Shari's supposed to call me back soon. She's very upset with me that I can't talk to her all the way from Tampa to Gainsville, but it's not my fault what time my plane leaves.
Goodbye, my dears. I shan't return until August 7th. I will miss you all.
