Shabbat Shalom

Jun 16, 2006 17:33

There are still a few more hours before Shabbat officially starts, so I'm posting now. I get to go to synagogue tonight and I'm SO thrilled. Temple Micah, a few miles from where we're staying, has services at 6:30 and it's obviously Reform - woo hoo!

We went and saw the Phillips Collection today, on the advice of Momma K, who told me it's her favorite place to see in D.C. It wasn't very big, but had some neat stuff, and I can see why she likes it. The setup is very nice, almost as if you're walking through someone's house looking at all the artwork.

Shari called on our way to Phillips, and we chatted for a bit. She seems to be doing well and I told her the good news about Sharon and my conversion. Always one to stick to her favorite topic of herself, she informed me several times that she was wearing the amber earrings I'd gotten her last summer in Prague and that she really liked them. I'm glad, but sheesh, what is she trying so hard to prove? It isn't like I'm still mad at her about the birthday thing. As she would say, "I'm SO over it."

Oh, and good news to end on. I won the Devil Wears Prada poster that I wanted on e-Bay for a mere $0.55 plus a dollar shipping. How cool is that?! I'm totally putting it up in the dorm room next year. A Sabbath of peace to all.
