Part 2
Miranda and Andrea slept surprisingly well, considering. They awoke early and knew that at the moment there was no time to discuss anything that had happened last night as they got everything ready to leave Paris. Packing, much to Andrea’s delight, took the least amount of time as Miranda waved open all of their suitcases and all the clothes folded themselves and settled inside the cases. Andrea looked at her and grinned “So that’s how you have always been ready to go before anyone else.” Miranda smirked and nodded her head.
Soon enough the rest of the RUNWAY staff had managed to get packed and to the airport on time. The first half of the ride back consisted of Miranda rattling off endless instructions of what needed to be done when they got back. However, Andrea noticed that she was incredibly distracted, and she knew why. “Serena, trade seats with Andrea, I have a few things I need to tell her, everyone else can relax for the rest of the flight, that’s all.” Miranda said. Serena got up and gave Andrea her seat. Andrea sat down next to Miranda and took out her notepad and pen. Seeing that the rest of the RUNWAY crew had lost interest and was busying themselves for a nap Miranda spoke quietly.”You will not need your pad and pen for this Andrea, in fact you will not even need to speak out loud.” Andrea looked at her confused and Miranda looked into her eyes. Andrea gasped when she heard Miranda speaking to her through thought.
“Face forward as if I have dismissed you, at least until everyone else is asleep, which will be in about five minutes.”
“Alright, I can do that. Miranda what’s going to happen when we get back to New York?”
“You will come home with me. The children will be with their father for two more days before coming back, I will explain everything to them. I cannot afford to let you out of my sight.”
“Why not?”
“My darling, it is something I cannot discuss with you whilst we are on an airplane. The discussion must be more private, just because of the emotions it will cause. I have to discuss with you what I saw in my vision. You will not like it, I do not even like thinking about it. Just know that you will be much safer if you stay where I can see you at all times.”
“I trust you Miranda. I love you.”
“I love you too my darling, now get some rest, while you slept seemingly well last night you still only got just a few hours’ worth. When we wake up we will be landing in New York.”
“How do you know I will stay asleep that long?”
“Because, while it is true that I am half fallen, my compassionate side does come out more often than anyone realizes. My entire staff is getting five hours of peaceful, rest filled sleep on this flight because they have worked hard and need it.”
“You can make everyone sleep?”
“Shocker isn’t it? That I Miranda Priestly can lull my entire staff into slumber.”
“You are full of surprises lady.”
The smirk on Miranda’s face was very apparent as Andrea felt herself become sleepy, and begin to nod off. Miranda looked around the jet and confirmed that yes, she had indeed knocked the rest of her staff out. So Miranda turned towards Andrea in her chair and whispered gently. “Sleep well my Andrea, for in the land of dreams lies escape from the cruelties of fate.” Miranda kissed her gently on the forehead and decided that a short nape was in order for herself. However, she knew that the dreams that awaited her would be nightmares. This close to the battle, she would be haunted by angels and fallen alike for a request to join one side or the other. In Miranda’s heart of hearts she knew she was out of place in both, and that earth would always be her true home.
Just before they landed in New York the RUNWAY staff began to awaken from their peaceful naps. Most of them surprised that they had slept the rest of the way back. As soon as the plane landed Miranda looked at the time and saw that it was about six in the evening, and everyone headed home. Miranda motioned Andrea over to her car and Roy loaded both of their suitcases into the spacious trunk. “Am I to drop Andy off after I take you home Miranda?” Roy asked as he pulled out of the airport. “No Roy, Andrea is coming home with me.” Miranda stated and as usual, offered no explanation. So Roy just nodded his head and knew better than to say another word on the matter.
They soon arrived at the town house; Roy left the luggage inside the door and left quietly. Miranda and Andrea stood in the hallway staring at each other. “What now?” Andrea whispered. ‘Now my darling, we eat. Then we can discuss what I have to tell you and why I cannot let you out of my sight.” Andrea nodded as Miranda led her into the kitchen where they found Miranda’s cook had left them some soup to heat up. They ate in silence, and soon Miranda realized she could no longer put off what she needed to tell Andrea. Miranda led them into the den where they sat down on the couch and Miranda poured them each a glass of wine.
“Andrea, when I saw the vision of you yesterday, it was not just of you perishing in battle my love. You in fact do not fight at all. You are just killed.” Miranda said her eyes beginning to tear up. Andrea reached out for Miranda’s hand and gently held it in her own. “Andrea, you are to be killed as the last step of putting everything into place. Your death is to be the last step. An angel is to be the one to kill you, because we will make the death painless for you. You will bleed but it will not hurt. I don’t know who that angel is. No one is allowed to know that until the day of the battle. I will do my best to find a way around this. I will not let you die Andrea. I can’t bare that thought.” Andrea sat her wine glass down on the table in front of them, followed by Miranda’s. Then she leaned in and gently kissed Miranda. “I trust you to find a way, Miranda.” Andrea whispered against her mouth.
Miranda nodded her head and kissed Andrea deeper, letting their tongues gently meet and caress each other. “Bedroom” Miranda whispered and Andrea nodded.
Making it to the bedroom had been a miracle. Miranda had pinned Andrea against the wall on the second floor and had removed her blouse and skirt. Just as they had made it to the third floor Andrea had pinned Miranda against the wall and given her the same treatment, removing her skirt and blouse. Then Andrea kissed her so thoroughly Miranda was certain she would come from that alone. Miranda had managed to get herself away from the wall, and started backing Andrea towards her bedroom, never allowing their mouths to part.
The next thing Andrea knew Miranda had laid her down on the bed and was on top of her. Kissing every inch of flesh she could find. Andrea had begun moaning and gasped as Miranda straddled her and reached behind her and unhooked her bra and tossed it out of sight. Miranda bent down and took a nipple in her mouth and sucked on it gently causing Andrea to squirm beneath her. “Miranda, please I need you now.” Andrea panted. Miranda just moved back up to Andrea’s mouth and kissed her again. Then Miranda began to slowly move down Andrea’s body, teasing her with light kisses the whole way until she came to edge of her panties. Miranda sat up and slid them down Andrea’s body and then discarded them. Miranda looked down and growled when she saw how wet and ready Andrea was. Miranda positioned herself slightly beside Andrea and gently ran her fingers through her wetness causing Andrea to gasp and moan. Miranda leant up and captured Andrea’s mouth in hers and gently glided two fingers into her weeping core, Miranda began to gently thrust in and out of Andrea.
Andrea broke their kiss and moaned loudly “Miranda please” Andrea sobbed and tried to shove her hips harder against Miranda’s hand. “You are mine now” Miranda whispered in a voice so husky it nearly sent Andrea over the edge. Miranda kissed her again and added began to rub Andrea’s clit with her thumb as she added a third finger. Andrea couldn’t take anymore and came, hard, her screams muffled by Miranda’s mouth. When she was finished Miranda took her in her arms and held her gently. “Miranda that was amazing.” Andrea said and turned to face Miranda.
“I do believe that you are a little over dressed Miranda” Andrea whispered and Miranda shuddered. She reached behind Miranda and unhooked her bra and sent it to the floor. Andrea gently cupped on of Miranda’s breasts and said softly “You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, and I’m going to make love to you.” Miranda moaned as Andrea rubber her nipple between her thumb and index finger. Andrea gently pushed Miranda onto her back and got on top of her and kissed her deeply. Then she trailed kisses down her neck and over her chest, pausing to suck on each breast. “I have wanted to do this for a very long time Miranda” Andrea said as Miranda writhed under her touch. Andrea removed Miranda’s panties and settled herself between Miranda’s legs.
Andrea stuck her tongue out and gently ran it along the entire length of Miranda’s sex. Miranda cried out and grabbed at the bed sheets. Andrea gently pushed her tongue inside of Miranda and wiggled it up and down and Miranda moaned loudly. “Oh god, Andrea” Andrea continued her slow torture moving her tongue in and out as slowly as she could, savoring Miranda’s smell and taste. Miranda was guiding her hips to meet Andrea’s tongue. “Please…oh…please…Andrea” Miranda panted. Andrea moved up and took Miranda’s clit in her mouth and sucked hard. Miranda shrieked as her orgasm washed over her and covered Andrea’ chin in her come. Andrea kissed Miranda’s sticky thigh and wiped her chin off with the back of her hand and crawled back up and laid beside Miranda. After a few minutes Miranda opened her eyes and looked at Andrea. “How do you do what you do to me?” Miranda asked gently and Andrea smiled and shrugged. “I don’t know.” Miranda pulled Andrea in for a kiss and groaned when she tasted herself on Andrea’s tongue.
They lay together in each other’s arms for awhile when Andrea finally spoke. “So what now Miranda” Andrea asked and Miranda turned in her arms to face her. “Now I find the battleground, and prepare it. You will come with me, because I do not trust them not taking you when I am not looking.” Miranda said and touched Andrea’s cheek gently. “How long will it take to find the battleground?” Andrea asked. “It’s hard to say, I could be anywhere in the world. I will start searching in New York first, then I will finish out the United States and then move to another continent. It shouldn’t take me more than a few days to find the battleground.” Miranda said and Andrea stared at her in surprise. “A few days for the whole world?” “Darling I can fly remember? I can do so extremely fast and I have expert vision. When I fly over the battleground the bracelet will tug me towards it.” Miranda said and Andrea nodded. “What will happen after the battle?” Andrea asked quietly “Well in the last couple of days before the battle the world will be thrown into chaos. There will be many natural disasters. After the battle life on earth will begin anew, granted, you will still have all of the technology of today, Good is supposed to win the battle. So my father is to be defeated and after he is and earth begins anew. Lucifer will be allowed to try once more and seduce followers, and It will then be up to humanity on whether or not he will have any control over anyone’s life anymore.” Miranda said gently and sighed
“For the most part everyone in the world will want him banished forever, unable to control anyone anymore. However, there will be a few who will wish for him to remain a part of things as he is now and will try and bring him to fuller power. So once he is banished they will try and bring him back, but They will be killed and sent into hell. Once they are gone earth will be peaceful, there will be guards to ensure that my father can no longer get loose. All of the fallen are to go with him. However, all of this was written and prophesized before my birth. Should I choose to fight with my father it could change everything. I will fight on the side that protects my family.” Miranda said and Andrea nodded in understanding. “When do we start looking for the battleground?” Andrea asked and Miranda smiled gently. “Immediately” Miranda said and got up and went into her closet and came out in a pair of Gucci jeans, Prada pumps and, of all things, a black, low cut, tank top. Andrea ‘s eyes went wide and Miranda grinned. She looked at Andrea and out of nowhere a similar outfit appeared for her only her tank top was white. “Get dressed my darling, and we will be on our way.” Miranda said and Andrea scrambled to get dressed quickly.
Once Andrea was dressed Miranda handed her a thick coat and walked her out onto the balcony. “Miranda aren’t you cold?” Andrea asked “yes, a little but I won’t be while I am flying, unlike you.” Miranda said and waved the balcony doors shut behind them. Miranda backed away from Andrea and closed her eyes. Suddenly a pair of white wings flew out from Miranda’s back and extended. Andrea stared at her in shock and Miranda smiled. “I told you I had wings darling.” “Yeah, but Miranda they’re gorgeous, you’re gorgeous” Andrea said staring at Miranda as the moon appeared to light her wings from behind. Miranda held out her hand And Andrea took it. Miranda gently pulled her closer and wrapped her arms around her. ‘Don’t worry, I won’t let you fall” Miranda said gently. “I know that. I trust you Miranda.” Andrea said and then looked at Miranda suspiciously “I won’t be falling asleep during these flights will I?” Miranda chuckled at the comment. “Not tonight no, however the next few nights, yes because you will need your rest.” Andrea rolled her eyes and huffed “How did I guess?” Miranda just shrugged and began beating her wings and Andrea watched in fascination as they lifted off the balcony and began soaring through the air. They hadn’t even been flying for two minutes when Miranda felt a tug on her wrist. She and Andrea looked at her hand and noticed that the bracelet was glowing.
“The battleground is here in New York?” Andrea said astonished. “More than that darling, it’s Central Park.” They began descending and Andrea asked “How are you supposed to prepare it as a battleground when people come through here all the time and at all hours?” Andrea asked. “Simple, they will only see me if I wish for them to see me, and to the human Central Park will look exactly the same. However, to the Angels, the Fallen, you and me it will look completely different.” Miranda said and Andrea nodded her head in understanding. As they landed on the ground the bracelet glowed brighter and Miranda began walking towards the pull, after they had gone a few hundred feet Miranda dropped to her knees in pain and Andrea ran towards her to help her. “Miranda are you alright?!” Andrea screeched. Miranda looked up at Andrea with eyes that had turned red and a malicious grin on her face. “Andrea, back away.” Miranda managed and fell to the ground, her wings fanned out behind her. “Miranda!” Andrea screeched and rushed forward. Miranda lay unconscious. Andrea noticed that her eyes kept moving behind their lids and she prayed that Miranda would wake up soon.

Miranda was in hell, literally. She looked at her surroundings. She was in her Father’s lair. Her back felt scorched. She looked back at her wings and saw that they were scorched, torn and useless. Just like the wings of all the fallen. As she turned she noticed that her hair was shoulder length, but still white. She was her true fallen self, which meant that she looked like she was in her twenties again for the moment. “Father what is the meaning of this?” She said when she turned and saw Lucifer standing before her. “I summoned you here because, I know of the prophecy and of your love for the young woman on earth watching over your unconscious form as we speak.” “What of it?” Miranda asked. “I wanted to tell you that I will provide protection for your twins, their father, and your Andrea if you join and fight with me. They will be completely safe during the battle and afterwards you will be reunited with them.” Lucifer said and Miranda stayed quiet. “I will think about if father I promise, however as you know I cannot reveal my decision until the day of the battle.” Miranda said and Lucifer nodded. “Yes I know daughter, just keep in mind that the angels, including your mother, will hold true to everything the prophecy states. I’m sure the battle will begin with or without her death. Goodbye Miranda.” Miranda nodded her head and shut her eyes, as pain ripped through her.

Miranda gasped as her form awoke. “Miranda, oh thank god, what happened?” Andrea asked, tears streaming down her face. Miranda gasped and stood slowly. She checked her hair, it was short again. She looked back at her wings and found them to be intact and perfect. “My Father summoned me to Hell to speak with me. He only summoned me in spirit and not in body as well, thank goodness. Otherwise I would still be in pain.” Miranda said. “Why would you be in pain?” Andrea asked “Because darling, a fallen always has a searing pain in their back where their wings are, because their wings are scorched, and tattered. My body would still be healing itself from being in fallen form. It’s also good because you would have been left here alone, even though my body was unconscious.” Miranda said. “So is that what you look like down there?” Andrea asked and Miranda nodded. “Yes, but my body, and features are youthful again. My hair is shoulder length, but still white down there.” Miranda said “Oh” Andrea said confused. “We do not die or age, angels or fallen. When we are in our respected places that is. Here on earth we age, but extremely slowly.” Miranda said
“What did Lucifer want?” Andrea asked. “He wanted to try and get me to choose his side by offering a proposition of course.” Miranda said Andrea held Miranda to make sure she wouldn’t fall. “darling, I assure you that I am alright. Let’s go home.” Miranda said. “what about the battleground?” “We will come back tomorrow night and prepare it. While I am fine my trip to hell has taken a lot out of me. I need all of my strength to prepare the grounds. The end of days is closer than I feared. I found the grounds immediately and once the grounds are prepared we will have one week until the battle. During that time, as I told you the earth will be thrown into chaos, and what I didn’t tell you is that my father will be allowed to roam free and create demons out of his followers.” Miranda said. “I only hope that when the world begins anew humanity as a whole will have been graced with a better sense of fashion.” Miranda added to lighten the mood. It worked. Andrea laughed and Miranda held her as she lifted them into the air and flew them back to the town house. After all, she might be the battleground guardian, but they still had to go to work tomorrow. “The Devil in Heels indeed” Miranda thought and smirked…..TBC
