that will teach us not to use the elevator

just 2 minutes sooner!

Today was definately an interesting day to say the least. Our teacher let us out of lecture earlier and I was mad because I had lab today and I could've been home 3 hours sooner. So we wasted an hour on lunch then when we go up to lab she's not there. We waited until 20 minutes past the scheduled lab time and decided to just sign a sheet and leave. Melissa and me started it so we waited until everyone signed it and were in charge of leaving it in her mailbox. I need to explain how the rooms are set up for the rest to make sense. There is an elevator, right next to which is a glass door that open into a mini hallway of maybe 2 feet which has the lab teacher's office (basically, her office is sandwiched between the two glass doors). Then, right next to her office is another glass door which leads into one lab room, then into a storage type room and then the other lab room (all separated by doors).

We usually enter on the other side of the building, where the other lab room is, the one not near her office. So we had to walk around to get to her office to put our sign-in sheet in her mailbox. We did then waited for the elevator. (Another explanation: Melissa has a muscle condition that doesn't allow her to use the stairs so she always takes the elevator and I take it with her.) As we were waiting I said "It would really suck if she was walking in just as we were leaving". Lo and behold, the elevator opens and there walks out our lab teacher! We were both shocked and didn't know what to say. I recall standing there for a long time just looking at Melissa and her at me. Then I said "everyone left" and the lab teacher asks "where did they go?". What the hell?!? How am I supposed to know? They just all walked down the stairs and left the building, was I supposed to know everyone's exact coordinates?

She said how 76 was jammed up and she had no way of contacting the department to tell them that and that we should've waited. We do not listen to the traffic report before coming to class nor do we know what route she takes to get here. It wasn't our fault! She seemed pissed off. She opened the door leaving me and Melissa waiting by the elevator. We stood like that for several minutes until I opened the door and asked her what she wanted us to do. She said to come in and do the lab! We walked in, sat down, and got all our stuff out. We just looked at each other and couldn't stop laughing! It was bad. Real bad. But funny. Out of all the things that could've happened! Out of all the people, we got caught! Melissa said she felt as if we were little kids in detention. We were worrying that she was going to take it out on us. She stood by the door scrutinizing our lab schedule for maybe 10 minutes before she addressed us. Basically we(our entire lab section) have to come in tomorrow with the other lab section and do the lab report and she postponed the experiment for monday.

It was all very amusing! We couldn't stop laughing even after getting on the trolley. Despite the fact that we were caught there it was pretty funny. Something like this could only happen to us. I don't think we're ever going to forget about this.
