I'm in CT for the first time since December.
BESS EATON FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY AND NOW ARE OWNED BY A CANADIAN COFFE/DONUT SHOP (Tim Horton's)!
Terri was there and explained it all to me. A lot of the same folks still work there-James, Julie, Jerry, Margo-and no one is happy with the change. I got a hazelnut decaf iced and it couldn't compare.
Fats summed up New Haven pretty nicely: "I can't believe that the secret cabal that rules the world comes from here."
Tomorrow, NYC. I almost was granted driving permission to NYC, but it's more practical to park in Stanford and take the Metro North and endure all 5 Greenwich stops, 3 Westport stops etc.
I caved in and joined Face Book. I have an unimaginable amount of free drink coupons. New Haven bar scene makes the Gold Coast seem appealing (3 bouncers managing an endless line of Paris Hilton wannabes), not the least because despite its many flaws, you can smoke inside bars in Chicago and they stay open past 1am. But, oh, the pizza.
