Grrr to job hunting

So, I go away for a couple of weeks. When I get back to somewhere with phone signal I phone up to find out whether I got shortlisted for a job and it was no surprise that I hadn't been. When I get home (Easter weekend), I find go through the jobs from the previous two weeks and find a job definitely worth applying for. It's not dissimilar to what I currently do. It's for a bigger organisation but over a smaller geographic area, other than that they really are very similar. The potential new job pays really quite a lot more than I currently get and comes with a car! Obviously I still need to make the shortlist then wow them at interview (I can dream) but that's where the problem lies a little. Okay, I started filling in the form on Monday, redrafted it on Tuesday, tidied up the personal statement today. All sensible timescales (even if I'd rather have got it done before now) but it closes tomorrow. Fine, I need to get to the Post Office by 5.30 for next day delivery or get to the post box by 6 and gamble (but I'd have sent it by email too). So I go to print it at 4ish and it successfully kills my computer. Suffice to say I missed the post :( Humpf. So now, rather than having a nice(!) day in doing service prep for the weekend and faith and worship (oh so exciting), I'm now going to London to make sure the form is definitely received. It's just such a faff. Eh well, I kinda really do want the job lots so it's worth it and I spent a lot of time, money and effort going for a job I subsequently decided I really didn't want at all.

So, I guess I'd better get an early night so I can make it to the station nice and early!
