This afternoon I decided to organize all the stuff in my bathroom. Normally I wouldn't spend my Friday afternoons organizing my shampoo, but the library was closed and I wasn't able to find any chapstick when I went looking for it yesterday. Apparently I need to re-organize my bathroom more often. Among the things I found:
*2 bottles of bubble bath that had grown bacterial colonies (might have been fungus, but it's contamination all the same). One of these bottles was glass, which is frankly, the most stupid and potentially dangerous packaging I can think of for something that will be handled with wet hands over hard surfaces.
* 5 bottles of Paul Mitchell hairspray (none of which was mine). Anyone want some?
* 19 rolls of dental floss.
* About $50 in expired medicine. Bah humbug.
* a dozen dead hair elastics.
* A leaky, rancid bottle of massage oil. Eww.
*An entire makeup bag of lotion samples. Score!
* 11 bars of L'Occitane soap, and 11 bottles of L'Occitane shampoo.
* 4 unused toothbrushes. Actually, it was more than that, but I decided to change out my current back-up brush.
* Makeup that was probably 10+ years old. *blush* Actually, some of it was probably much, much older. I threw it all out. Darn, now I'll have to get some more makeup. Well, considering I hadn't worn it in that long, I might not need to replace it.
*No chapstick. I go through this stuff faster than I thought.
The upshots of this adventure are: Try not to over-buy medicine, it goes bad faster than you think. Sunscreen only lasts about a year. Fake tan last 3-6 months. No one ever visiting us will want for shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes or floss. Anyone want a purple Kaboodle? I'm pretty sure I can get my name off the top.
