Audition!
I am auditioning for a solo today with the Chamber Singers! It's this amazingly sweet spiritual version of Go Down Moses arranged by Hailstork and I really really want it!!!!! It's written for bass so I guess I'm in the right spot, but god do I love spirituals!Singing this song means so much to me - I can remeber back when I was a kid in Sunday school and I would sing this song in class. I loved singing spirituals; they left so much room open for manipulation and improvisation and pretty much rocked! Also nowadays I still find that spiritual music is the best on earth. When I spent my summer down in Americus Georgia and Anniston Alabama I made a special point of going to Black Baptist Services on Sundays just so I could sing along. It felt so good! I think that spiritual music has taken the place of warm fuzzy religion for me. They just make my soul warm.
