thanksgiving was super low key this year since we basically celebrated over the weekend.

it was just my mom and my grandma and Mario and me.  we read the ads and played Monopoly, watched some TV and had a hamburger and fries for dinner.  it was pretty nice except for the drama that I put my last post.

my mom and I swore that we were not doing ( Read more... )

NOOOOOOOO!!!!

What do you mean by the trumpets old lady yelling at me about why...

That has got to be a typo. haha

I went to the movies, saw Life of Pi. It was as good as the book and visually completely awesome. Ang Lee is an amazing director. I went all the back ways though, never got on Main St to get to the theater downtown. It took me longer but I was proud I never got near a mall except the one across from my apartment because that can't be helped.

My Thanksgiving was low key too. I like it that way! :)

lol I like the old trumpets lady.

A co-worker asked me that today and I said I had the same feeling that I had at the end of the movie as I did for the book. In this case, it doesn't matter. They change like two small things in the movie and they are so small it doesn't matter at all. I really think you will like it. It's very ethereal and thought-provoking.

OMG yes! I'm sorry I didn't say anything! I do find it funny that we are carrying on a conversation on both LJ and FB. lol

It definitely is funnier. Well you know me and my typos. lol

Definitely sounds like a must see! I'll have to ask Mario what he thinks. I tend to make him go to all the movies I want to see (because I have low tolerance for most ighting movies or movies with violence so he never gets to see those. lol) I might have to wait til it comes out on DVD but we'll see. I definitely want to read the book now too!

Oh no worries i just wanted to make sure. My friend in Delaware got hers but I mailed out 5 other Thanksgiving cards and no one else mentioned it which isnt like a huge deal but it made me worry that maybe people didnt get them. Glad to hear you did!

Haha that is funny I think thats a first for us. :)

Ok, what does for most ighting movies or... mean? Just so I can address it. lol

It's rated PG. As for violence, it has animal violence. The family owns a zoo, so there are animals who do what they do in the wild.

I don't like shoot em up violence at all. In this case animals do what is natural to them so I can deal with it.

I got it Tuesday, I said to myself, message Janel and then it fell out of my head! lol

Maybe you should read the book first, so you know what happens. Violence in historical context, animals hurting or killing each other, I can deal with because it's real life. As for animals, circle of life thing, you know? There are two scenes. It's the animals that do themselves in, really. I wouldn't say traumatized, it really is understood at the end of the movie/book which I can't get into until you have read the book.

Read the book!! ♥
