I'm so very sorry, darlin'. I hate that I never knew her better than I did, given the sheer number of lives around me that she touched. I had no idea that you were so much closer to her than a number of the others, and I'm sorry for that, too.

That said, she must have been a truly remarkable person. I hope that one day, someone remembers me half as well as you have remembered your best friend here.

Hey sweetie. I wanted to check in on you, since I always think about calling in the evening, and I never know when is too late to call. I've been thinking about you guys a lot, and I wanted to let you know that. I'll try to call you tomorrow at a decent time, at least to say hi.
