Surgery scheduled, mostly
Saw the surgeon this afternoon. I am scheduled for surgery on Thursday, March 12, time unknown. Evidently they will call and let me know the evening before? This is a new one on me. We may need to make childcare arrangements for Senior Nephew but won't know until the night before? The only time I have not been given a firm time for surgery or even a procedure was the first time and then I was told that all the ORs were full but I would be going in as soon as one became available!
Oh well, at least things are moving ahead. Frank has agreed to hang with Mom while I am having the surgery. He can distract her from fretting and make sure she eats and pickup Senior Nephew if needed. Probably isenglass or sqk73 will post an update at some point that day. It's not major and should be uneventful. I am just ready to be done with this and move on!
Surgeon also changed my Gabapentin script to 4 times a day which will hopefully help more with the nerve. I currently take it three times a day, at 8, 2 and 10. I usually start having pain an hour or two before the next dose is due. Hopefully this will help with that.
I also got a script for a hospital bed which will make recovery more comfortable.
So all in all a good visit...
