So, the poll showed 28th July as a reasonably popular date for a group trip to Puzzlewood, one of the Merlin filming locations. colacube and lou_angel have volunteered to drive people to Puzzlewood from Gloucester station. Yay

Just be aware that it was very wet and muddy there last week and I fell twice in the mud so bring wellies and be prepared to get very dirty. Hopefully everything will be fine. FYI, the filming last week took place right inside the forest - when the path splits to the right and up, the filming was to the left and down around the corner in a flatter area.
IDK, the opportunity to drool over the cast... :P (Though it does make me wonder: what if they're trying to film a non-rainy-day scene but it keeps raining at them?)
M and I should be on the train that gets into Gloucester at 10.06. That or we'll be panicking because we've missed the train...
They don't film on the weekends and it's highly likely they are somewhere else at present. I just thought you'd like to know where they filmed so you can go "oh, I was there" next time Merlin is on. Some places are really distinctive and some aren't at Puzzlewood. I'm a bit of a locations geek so I always want to know. :D
I, for one, would be fascinated to know. If you've got an annotated map, or similar, than that would be excellent.
In the meantime, I'll point you in the direction of quarryquest who is the biggest location-geek I've ever met, to the point where she convinced me to help her with a Crimewatch Reconstruction of the end of Sherlock S2 (and is the world authority on the disused quarries that the BBC used to film Doctor Who/Blake's 7/etc in)
I have no annotated map. There are two paths right after the entryway. Take the left one which is close to the forest edge. As you go around the corner, there is a flattish spot. That's where they were filming the day I was there.
