Everyday isn't and "awesome" day...

One of my students told me to "Stop it!" when I told him to put his jacket on and go outside for recess. He then ran out the door (at least he did what I wanted). He stood outside and I watched through the window as he shouted at me like a disgruntled cab driver, complete with irate hand gestures. I had to turn around so that he wouldn't see me giggling like a five year old.

This morning a small run made its snazzy debut in the upper thigh portion of my stockings. It apparently felt destined to be the "next big thing," because it eventually grew into two very large tears, one on each leg. One even dipped to knee level and was dangerously close to the hem of my skirt. Good thing London is windy and my skirt kept blowing up mid-thigh.

I was so ready to go home- and out of eyeshot- that I decided to take the "fast route" through the tube station. For those of you unfamiliar with the London underground, pedestrian traffic is supposed to move to the left, so people in a hurry can move around you. Also, if you want to stand on the escalator you should stand on the right. The left side is open for people who want to walk or run up. I opted to do the latter and was feeling pretty good about it until I slipped and flopped on my belly like a dead fish. This was about halfway up the escalator next to a nice Asian lady. She said, "Ooohhhppp!" and asked if I was okay. I got a lot of concerned looks from the people next to her. I said, "That's what I get for rushing!" and giggled nervously and proceeded to haul ass up the remainder of the steps. Then my Oyster card (tube ticket in the form of a swipe card) didn't work and I needed assistance out of the station. This made me laugh. I laughed all the way to the grocery store and to my flat.

On the upside, I got some delicious Digestives... which sound a lot like a laxative, but are actually chocolate-covered biscuits... which is what they call cookies here. I am muy pleased. I am also tired. So... goodnight, loves! :)

PS. 6 weeks and 1 day until I come home!
