Books, textbooks and jobs...

I went shopping today. I bought myself some books...and I am excited to read all of them.

I got the following:

1. The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins (I have another book by this author: The Ancestor's Tale and I love how smart these books make me feel. *lol* Besides, anything talking about evolution is just so interesting to me)
2. Stones into Schools by Greg Mortenson (this is the same author who wrote Three Cups of Tea, which I thought was absolutely amazing. I am really excited to read this one)
3. Debt Free Forever by Gail Vaz-Oxlade (I love her TV show Till Debt Do Us Part and once I have another job, I will sit down and get to work on becoming debt free. And I mean really debt free. I figure for now, I can work on the non-financial things she suggests [like writing down my core values, my goals and their priorities, etc.])

The grand total of these books was $63.04 (I bought myself an iRewards discount card, and had $25 in a gift card and a coupon).

After Chapters, I then made my way to the University and bought my textbooks for this semester. I got:

1. Reading package for PHI1104 ($27.41)
2. Short Story Anthology and a novel: Green Grass Running Water ($92.30)

In the midst of my running around, I got a couple of interesting phone calls. The first was from a former coworker who left CORADIX before I did. She left to work for another IT consulting firm and this firm is partnering with another firm (to share experience and resources). Turns out the partner company has a number of bids due in the next month or so and they could really use an extra pair of hands. So she gave them my number. Less than an hour later, I got a call from the partner company: was I interested in helping them out? Could I come in this week to talk to them...so I have a meeting on Wednesday morning for that.

In school-related news, I finally got my final grades. I got the A+ I was expecting in my music class. I am disappointed in my philosophy mark though...and I have contacted the professor to see my final exam. When I walked out of that final, I was positive I had gotten my B in the class...my final grade is currently listed as a C+.
