Damn. The main camera on the Hubble Space Telescope has stopped working. The hope is that they'll be able to fix the problem from the ground, either by switching to a backup system or doing a reload of the camera's memory, but if those don't work... :-/

An interesting article about how the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft are still sending back data after 28 years in space and billions of miles of travel. I just can't help but wonder if we were to send a Voyager 3 probe out today, full of state-of-the-art technology from 2006, would it perform as well or as long as the state-of-the-art technology from ( Read more... )
