26 Movies

Jul 10, 2006 22:40

I store a big part of my DVD collection in some lidded plastic boxes I found once upon a time, and 26 DVDs fit into each box. After rearranging my DVD collection during my day off on the 4th of July, I started thinking the other night, as I lay in bed not sleeping, about which 26 DVDs from my collection I'd keep if I could have only one of those ( Read more... )

Not a bad list. ^_^ I think I'd have to work Babe in there somewhere, though - a superb film throughout, with an absolutely outstanding ending. And Tarkovsky's Stalker - just amazing cinematography, alongside a heavily philosophical story. And Paranoia Agent, if a series were permitted. ^_^

Casablanca's still a wonderful film - a melodrama, certainly, but still.. the cast worked so very well together. And I could certainly enjoy watching the Andromeda Strain again. Maybe I'd substitute The Last Starfighter for Death Race 2000, possibly even over Tron. Tricky.

Maybe I'd even shoehorn Survive Style 5+ in there.. such a bizarre film. Quite distinctly Japanese. ^_^

Thanks!

Believe it or not, sad as it may sound, I've never seen Babe. Or The Last Starfighter. As broad as my taste in movies is, there always seems to be more than a few that I should have seen by now, but haven't.

If I could keep only one movie, I think Casablanca would be it, for more than a few reasons...

And I could certainly enjoy watching the Andromeda Strain again

I know one of the big complaints about the Andromeda Strain is that it's a slow movie bogged down with (pseudo)scientific details. It's the attention to detail that I happen to like :-)

Tron is a movie I need to watch again in its entirety sometime. I happened to catch the last half of it on late night TV about a month ago, and I was sorry that I wasn't able to see the whole thing.

*chuckle* You'll get no complaints from me about that, because I like your taste in films ;-)

*chuckle* Of course it would! It'd make the Top Ten list. And if I were to do a list of 26 more movies, The Lion King 1-1/2 would be there :-)

Would TLK 2, Simba's pride make the bottom 100? ;P

Well, I don't know if it would be that low *chuckle*. To be honest, I've only watched it once, and I really don't remember much about it. Which is probably a sign that I wasn't very impressed with it ;-)
