Auto Update

Well, it appears as though I may have dodged a bullet on this one. I was expecting that my car had suffered some sort of catastrophic engine damage costing $$$$ to fix. According to the mechanic, though, the fix is going to be replacing a burned-out ignition coil (or two, the person I talked to couldn't quite read the mechanic's notes). No ignition coil = no spark in the engine = car don't go ;-) Should be ~$350 total for parts and labor to get things fixed. Bad enough, but nowhere near the $1,000+ I was fearing for a major engine overhaul.

I hope that'll take care of things. I trust my mechanic, but I'll feel more comfortable once my car is back and running again. Part of me is realistic/pessimistic enough to wonder if I'm really going to get out of this crisis so inexpensively.
