Literally every site I know is going down now - mediafire, filesonic, 4shared, VideoBB etc.
I suppose I can only hope that this crackdown will eventually in a drop in sales of big companies. The easiest (but slow) way to protest is really to stop buying things - DVDs, merchandise etc., especially from Hollywood. As individual consumers we have little power over the law, but if the big conglomerates can be hurt by our combined effort, they will be the ones to get the wheel turning.
What stings though is that the countries not participating in this ban are the ones likely to get hurt the most - the internet is the rest of the world's only source of Asian media, and now their reach to the international market is stunted.
I wonder what TimBL thinks of all this, and I wonder if he had a say in the regulation of what was essentially his creation.
