*Enoch caught the flash of movement in a store's window while exploring, and followed the energetic explorer at a slower pace, keeping calm and and a careful eye out to keep the trail. Despite meeting a talking pony and a troll so far, he still can't shake the instinct that a non-human, non-angel must be a demon. So he wants to make sure. When the explorer stops, he does as well and addresses him.*
You're very acrobatic.
*Of course, he has no idea this is the creature he met before, when he was trapped as a swan.*
[ His ears twitched when the other speaks and he turns around to face him. By now, the sight of others is less frightening to him, and he doesn't outright feel the need to attack or flee. Enoch isn't the exception, not least of all because Asato recognizes that voice from somewhere.]
*And Enoch recognizes that voice. He doesn't immediately place it, like Asato, but...at least he's sure this isn't a demon now since he thinks he would remember meeting one. He relaxes.*
My name is Enoch. Did we meet while transformed? Your voice sounds familiar.
Strange that only when I come here I find myself meeting beings I've never heard of...
*Do these creatures exist in the distant future, somehow? Or were they just from a land far away? ...that he'd somehow never even heard of in Heaven. Yeah, something strange is going on.*
Yeah. All kinds of creatures, like trolls and humans...
[He nods in agreement. The only beings he really knew were other ribika, though he was aware that demons and devils also existed. But those were myths, certainly never something that would involve him...]
Ribika live in a land called Sisa. It's got a lot of forest, hills, and valleys. And...I've never been there, but the biggest city, Ransen, has mirror towers like these [He nods to the taller buildings and skyscrapers] but they're broken down, mostly. They're left over from the time that Two Cane lived there.
*There isn't a possibility that he can even begin to conceive of that isn't utterly disastrous. Maybe he should at least begin compiling a list of things to ask Lucifel about when he returns - and he's confident that he will. After all, for Armaros to have experienced what he has, he'll have to go back, right?
Until then, though, he'll pursue what leads he has on his own.*
That's not a comforting thought. But who is "Two Cane"?
I'm not sure. Maybe it happened when the fire wheel sank into the sea. Or maybe they all passed on to a better realm. [The most likely explanation, and that offered by the all-seeing devils, some of whom were once human, is simply that human beings grew too strong for their own good. They continually wrestled with nature, until nature viciously struck back. And with that, they were gone.]
Two Cane is the god of the humans. He's a good god, I think. Strong and just.

[He smiles a bit, at ease, and steps closer.]
We did meet. You were the beautiful bird. Right? I'm Asato.

The creature by the lake. Yes, I was the swan you met. So this is your true form?

This is what I am. I'm a ribika.

What sort of place do ribika come from?

*Enoch can't help but smile.
...But only for a moment.*
What do you mean by "the fire wheel sank into the sea"?

It sank into the sea and colored it red. That's why Ribika, Two Cane's wife, gave us another moon.
