Writer's Block: Summer Break

Jul 10, 2007 07:15

I. I explored the miles of wood behind our house
2. I rode my bike for miles... and went swimming at the pool. approx 10 miles to my friends house and 4 miles to the pool, then swim for 2 hours. deep fried mushroom snack. and ride back. where did I get the energy!! I want it now! that's why I have really muscular legs to this day I think. even when I get no exercise they are meaty.

I realize, this is not writing. this is listing. (not that I can write)
It's too early to write. I'm still half asleep.

Chocolate. As soon as I got money as a kid I rode my bike to Morristown to buy a block, not a bar, of chocolate. Morristown was a little town, the closest one to us four miles south.
I had a loyal labrador named Juliette. Sometimes she would follow me on bike rides. One day she followed me to Morristown. It was a fine day, great having your dog run beside you until you look down and see bloody dogprints. Poor Juliette, running on the hot pavement must've done it. She never even complained or tried to stop. I had no idea that was a possibility and there was nothing to do but keep riding home with her running on bloody paws.
I remember not knowing whether it would be better to go slow so she could walk, or keep up the pace to get her home quicker. I looked at her paws and she didn't say anything. I felt so guilty.
