So, check it out, The Polaris Music Prize is an award for the best Canadian independent album of the year, based entirely on artistic merit. It's $30,000 for the winner, and all the kudos. It's become bigger and bigger since its founding in 2006 and I heart it, because the Long and Short List nominations include so much of the music I love. I ♥ CanCon.
I am listening on the
radio because the bastarding MuchMusic video stream won't work for me.
I AM EXCITE FOR HEY ROSETTA!'S SET OMG
Austra sound like they must be FUCKING EPIC live. Wow.
(Sample) I heart the way Craig Norris (CBC 3 host) giggles at his own jokes. ♥ He doesn't do it in an obnoxious forced way, more of a "wait, what the hell did I just say on the air?" way.
Shit, I love Galaxie. They're not gonna win, but aaaahh. Indie needs legit rock-out music like that more often. \m/
(Sample) Whaaaaaat, this is the first show Galaxie has done in Toronto? :O :O :O They must come back so I can see them someday IRL. ONTARIO TOUR, GO.
Timber Timbre is SO INTERESTING. *chinhands*
(Sample) As good as The Suburbs is, I... don't want Arcade Fire to win. They'd deserve it! But they've won everything ever already.
BRAIDS seems to be the favourite this year. I like them! But I'm not in love with it. Experimental pop is fun, though!
(Sample) LOL, Vish. Way to make an artist intro the most inappropriate.
HEY ROSETTA IS SOON. ASDFGHKL
The giant cheque is being made by the signmaker from
Honest Ed's lololol. (Probably not really. Grant lies.)
Hey Rosetta! are playing
Bricks. GDI, I love this song a lot.
YER SPRING. MY FAVOURITEST SONG. ♥_♥ Ugh. *fangirls Tim Baker and his voice so much*
Arcade Fire won, are you even serious. Like they need $30,000. I like them, but I am kind of disappoint. =/
WHATEVER, THE SUBURBS WAS A GREAT ALBUM. I AM NOT GOING TO BE A CURMUDGEON.
