WIN and Fail. Mostly Win.

So I was at the mall looking for, among other things, some red Olympics mittens. But can you FIND any that are not child-size? No, because everything at the Bay is thoroughly picked-over, and Home Outfitters is maybe getting another shipment. Maybe. Nos, wanna drive me to a Zellers?... Wherever the hell there is a Zellers around here ( Read more... )

Those mittens are cute. Everyone seems to agree on that. I hope you can still find any somewhere.

Our "good" women team really screwed up in the second heat. I just hope they won't try too hard in the fourth now and get hurt.

I also wish I had channels to switch. That showed Olympics. I could switch to the soft porn or whatever else is on at this time of night, but I prefer hockey. :D

Speed skating was very intense. Congrats on the bronze.

I can't believe Daniela Anschütz-Thoms finished fourth again, though (there was a very short period where they thought Sablikova might have had to get disqualified and I did kind of hope for that, which makes me evil, cause she had a good race and that is just unfair).

Maybe Daniel can agree with the officals that fourth place will be left out in future races once she retired. I think by now she owns it. ;)

I was very pleasantly surprised by Stephanie Beckert again. I am already looking forward to see her in 2010.

I have... four? Five channels? More if you count ones not in English. :D

I would feel bad if another speed skater got DQed after a good race. Poor Sven Kramer.

And fourth place is a very Canadian position. *g*

Yeah, rub it in. ;p

I have one with live events and one with recap stuff from yesterday. Very frustrating, but I am too cheap for pay tv.

Me, too, but I also feel very bad for Daniela, who finished fourth in 16 or 17 Olympic races and her only gold was in the team competition. Which yeah, is more than most people get in their lives, but all those fourth places must be very frustrating. And she is 36, so unlikely she'll try again in 2014.

Sven Kramer is double bad because he wanted to go into the right lane, but his coach mislead him.

Maybe Daniela Anschütz-Thoms is Canadian then. ;)

I really like the sled of Germany 1.

I also really should go to bed. ;p

Yeah, I feared for that. She wanted a medal so badly.

I hope nothing bad happened. :(

Yeah, that is good. That eye and face do not look too good though. But nothing serious. YAY!

Okay, looks like that red under the eye was from the helmet and not from the ice.

Ah, good. With the helmet on the face shouldn't meet ice at all...

If this eye protection thingie goes up it can, though. The cheek and lower eye. Not too pretty.

Wheeeeeeeeeee!

I hope the other Canadian one will have a good run now.
